Michigan Christian Fellowship’s eighth annual retreat, held at Miracle Camp in Lawton,
MI, was an amazing time we had with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a wonderful time of fellowship with old and new friends from all around the United States and Canada. There were over 100 attendees that made the trek out to the west side of the state, and even endured the power outage. Thank God He protected us and everyone arrived safely. God is so great that our camp wasn’t even affected by the outage. This just confirmed that God wanted to do something great in those that attended, and nothing was going to stop Him.
The retreat began on Thursday night with a wonderful time of worship and digging into God’s word. The message was simple but true and we could see God working in lives in a big way. This was just the beginning!
The other days were filled with amazing things God had in store for us. We learned about keeping our relationships pure & holy, and how important it is to God, to ourselves, and to our spouse to be pure. Pastor Nino gave great examples to live by and his own testimony on how we can get back our purity even when we felt like it was destroyed. God is our restorer!
God continued to show that He was a restorer when He broke through in many lives and revealed the sin in our life. People confessed sins to one another and could see that people were beginning to be free from sin that weighed them down. God was beginning to make us pure and whole again.
The Saturday evening session was redirected to those who had a desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit. God filled many people that night. It was a wonderful time of worship and being in His presence. God was revealing His truth in many lives and changing them for eternal purposes.
Sunday was the end of a wonderful retreat with worship and preaching. Testimonies and exhortations were also given and it was a confirmation of God’s goodness and what He was doing in lives during the retreat. We also celebrated communion, led by Sam George, in a unique and intimate way.
We also can’t forget our wonderful team-building activities, seminars and devotional times! For the team building activities, we were split into various groups between guys and gals and had team leaders that led us. It was a time of learning to trust, listen, encourage and work together to complete a task. We also enjoyed various seminars led by Anne Crain, Aby Yohannan, Josh Philip, and Pastor Nino from topics such as Developing a Christian World View, The Covenant, Peer Pressure & Campus Life, and Dating & Relationships. These seminars were practical teaching that we could use and take with us. Lastly, was our devotional time, we started the day with devotional time on an individual basis and ended it as a group within the cabin. This intimate time was used to focus on the Lord and to uphold our brothers and sisters. God used this time to impact our lives tremendously.
So that ends our eighth annual retreat. It was an amazing time we had. Thank you Pastor Nino for coming and being used by God to touch us. Thank you for everyone who came out from Canada, Florida, Illinois, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, and of course our Michiganders. We could see a deep hunger people had to be with the Lord and God was strengthening His children. May we be obedient to the Lord in the decisions we made, and may we grow stronger in Him. May we keep striving for the greater as God reveals more and more to us in the days to come. In our walk, our talk and our relationships, let us be pure in all we do!
